I have a 2020 JLUR with MetalCloak Front/Rear Bumpers and License plate relocation. Hoping to add a lift/fender liners at some point. My Jeep is my midlife crisis car. Got it last year for my 40th and last time I had one (or drove a manual) was over 20 years prior. Love it. As far as my mods:
MetalCloak Rear Bumper:
Oh boy this thing was a pain. It looks great. It's built great. Install was... a pain. The bumper has this kind weird hook that needs to go around the factory hitch and it was just a nightmare to get on. Once I did I found out that the factory hitch lugs keep the bumper from getting snug enough to the frame to allow the tire to clear. The swing gate won't close. Took it to an installer for the front bumper and they confirmed that with the factory tire carrier and hitch this is a no go. I'm have a tire carrier mount and hinge braces to go on next week which should solve that problem. I like the bumper, but I wish it just had a hitch built in.
MetalCloak Front Bumper:
After the rear I finally took this to the shop for an install. Went to one of their listed Gold Installers, Honest Speed Shop, in C-bus. They did a great job putting the front bumper on and the new XRC Gen 3 winch. The downside here is just that the winch is TIGHT. There's about 1mm clearance behind the winch to the grill so the solenoid has to be side mounted and is touching the frame of the stinger. So a cover is a no go. That said I plan to cut some fabric and make a custom wrap so wish me luck. I love the look of this bumper. Just love it.
MetalCloak License Plate Relocation.
This one boggles my mind. I got this thing, I looked at it cross eyed for about a day or so. The wiring that is included with the kit is just awful. Just awful. There are some butt splice connectors, there was about a foot of cord (need several). It was all just terrible. The brake light and license plate lights had connectors on them you have to cut off. Short story is get some good heat shrink waterproof butt connectors. Get a good 3 wire waterproof connect so you can actually disconnect the wire to take off the tire. Once I made a new wiring harness, bought enough cable to wire it, and installed it I like it except... it sticks out so far. Like near a foot out the back of the tire. I'm not sure why this is. On the instructions they have he wiring going out the back of the tube through a hollowed screw (which isn't hollow). I planned on just hacking off half the tube to put the plate tighter to the tire. After that I will love it lol. I posted a pic of the wiring harness I made. now I just unscrew that connection and pop this puppy is free. Also the license plate light bleeds light backwards (not legal) so used liquid electrical tap to cover the clear plastic that was allowing that. This is the part I was probably least happy about. Instructions had errors, wire not long enough, and nothing supplied was waterproof. I really wish this thing came prewired just like I show it for the price. My work looks janky and lumpy (zero wiring experience) but it's solid and waterproof.

Oh man, this was my first mod and it was a huge undertaking. Body bolts, induction heaters. I was so proud when I got them on and when I started to do the wiring seemed so easy. Just run it through the port in the firewall... What port? Lol. I have a manual so that port was occupied by the clutch. Long story short I hooked them into my interior Aux switches which in and of themselves took many hours of cursing with a flashlight to find the bundle tucked waaaaaaay up in the dash.
Please note with the exception of the license plate I'm not bashing anything. The metalwork on these pieces is gorgeous. I have no illusions that any other license plate kit would have been less a nightmare. LOL. I'm very happy with my purchases and while I cursed and threw crap for each install when finally done the hands to up in the air shouting "I did it, I did it!"
