Rock Slider clean up

hi all, with the SIP order and all that's going on, I figured it'd be the best time to do a quick clean up on my sliders. I've had these JCR sliders for about 10 years and they've been great but they're are a bit beat, with some surface rust but not completely destroyed. Here's what I did to clean them up, all for under $40

I started with a wash, and cleaned them up with some acetone (I got the big jug since I was out), then hit the rusty spots with some Loctite Rust Neutralizer and finished them off with some flat black acrylic enamel.

here's some of the surface rust that was on my sliders and the lower front bumper:

After spraying the rust nutralizer, the metal turns a light shade of black:

And then with some areas taped off, I hit it with the rattle can.

Overall pretty happy with the results. Though I know these parts will get beat up over time, it's nice to have something resembling new.

Yep, masked it all first since I wasn't too sure what the rust nutralizer would do to the factory paint. The Loctite stuff looks like it does what it says it does as the sprayed areas that had rust turned black after 5-6 hours though I let it cure overnight in my garage per the instructions.

The result looks satisfying. My uncle got this new incoming JK project we'll work on after we finished installing the brake kit and american racing rims on the current Silverado project and clear the garage. Upon his initial inspection she got some minor rusts and still some dirt build up probably from the last ride. She's been sitting for about 3 years so we need something tough againsts the rust.
