Jeep Newb
I recently moved to the south and sold my LJ before leaving California. I'm currently shopping for a 2-door JK as a replacement and I'm wondering what I should be on the lookout for. My past Jeeps normally got driven a dozen times a year or less since they were mainly trail rigs. I want this build to be as reliable as my previous rigs but I'm looking forward to the nicer interior for sure. My research so far is pointing towards a 2012 or newer. What's the thought on that?

The 2012+ models are much more enjoyable to drive as they have a stronger engine. I would look at the 2014+ year models. As the 12 & 13 had oil leak issues. Other than that check for the normal stuff....under carriage, ball joints.... mud lol. The late models are very dependable. I think you will enjoy it
