Just wondering if anybody here has installed one of these Trail Head Off Road cowl cold air intakes? I saw somewhere that there’s an issue with having them in California? Wondering why that is?

first I have seen of it. Looks like a pain in the ass to install. Any real advantages to using this style?

According to a bleepinjeep video I saw, it lowered the air temp at the intake manifold from 60c down to 20c. If that’s the case then, I don’t think you can expect much more from a cold air intake than that.

Very true. I can’t wait to see a write up on it by you 😉

I’m with Pthorpe. Looks like more of a hassle than anything. I guess the major advantage would be clearing out more space under the hood

Yea, I dig that part too and I would definitely install it but I’m most curious about the whole thing about it presenting some sort of problem at the time of getting the Jeep to pass smog in CA. That’s kinda my main question here.

I've always liked the idea of a cowl intake and seen a few done but I'm not sure if Id be able to clear everything once the diesel gets dropped.
