Ask The Expert- Wheel spacers

I have a 2014 JKU with 3" lift and 35's with aftermarket wheels. It has a nice offset but I would like to go a little wider. My questions are:

1. What size spacers and brand can/should I go with?

2. Is there a downside to adding spacers? ie. Safety, bad for certain components etc.

What is the current backspace on your wheels? That would help determine the max spacer you would want to use.

With your current 4.5" backspace I would not suggest running spacers. It will set you at a relative 3"of backspace. This will put additional leverage on the ball joints and wheel bearings causing them to wear faster.
